Cottage Cheese Breakfast Ideas – Easy Healthy Meals to Start Your Morning

I’ve been finding so many delicious and easy cottage cheese breakfast ideas. I use to snack on cottage cheese in college as a little protein snack, but recently I’ve been a little more creative with cottage cheese recipes for the family. Here are my favorite ways to use Hood cottage cheese for a healthy breakfast.

1. Cottage Cheese Toasts

I love using cottage cheese as a spread. This cottage cheese breakfast idea can be sweet or savory depending on your preferences.

Sweet Cottage Cheese Toast

  1. Spread Hood cottage cheese country style on a multigrain toast
  2. Top toast with fruits of your choice: strawberries, peaches, etc.
  3. Drizzle with honey and add a dash of black sesame seeds

Savory Cottage Cheese Toasts

  1. Spread Hood cottage cheese on a multigrain toast
  2. Add crispy bacon, 1/2 avocado sliced, 1 over-medium egg
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper

2. Cottage Cheese Waffles

Another great cottage cheese breakfast idea is to make cottage cheese waffles. This is a great way to get a picky toddler to eat a healthier waffle and add a pack of protein! Hood cottage cheese contains around 13-17 grams of protein depending on what flavor you choose.

Try this recipe from Taste of Home. I used Hood Cottage Cheese with Strawberry for a hint of strawberry in the waffles. It gave the waffles extra flavor without being overpowering.

3. Cottage Cheese Breakfast Bowl

A cottage cheese fruit bowl is a perfect morning breakfast. This cottage cheese breakfast idea is healthy and easy to create!

  1. Add a 5.3 oz single-serve container of Hood Cottage Cheese with Pineapple to a bowl
  2. Add fruits: pineapple, blueberries, strawberries
  3. Top with coconut strips and black sesame seeds
  4. Drizzle with honey if desired
