The Best Neighborhoods to See Holiday Lights in Northern VA

2507 Fairview Drive Alexandria VA Christmas Lights

The creativity and holiday spirit of these homes and neighborhoods in Northern VA are soo amazing! I’m listing three stops I would highly recommend going to if you are looking for the best neighborhoods to see holiday lights in Northern VA. A full comprehensive list can be on Holly’s Tacky Christmas Lights website, which is a great resource to find so many festive homes.

We checked out a few on Holly’s list, but the ones listed are the ones we REALLY enjoyed. We loved the homes where you could walk through the neighborhood street or yard to check out the over-the-top lights & Christmas decorations. Thank you to all the great neighbors who really put so much effort to create such amazing Christmas displays!

1. 2507 Fairview Drive, Alexandria VA

This amazing house is definitely the BEST holiday lights house that we have seen so far! The decorations are way over the top. There is a small path you can walk through the yard to see the inflatables, lights, decorations adorning the roof, and there is even a tunnel of lights you can walk through. The owner won ABC’s The Great Christmas Fight in 2018, and it’s easy to see why! Donations are accepted on-site or you can also leave a donation through GoFundMe.

2. 10108 Marshall Pond Rd, Burke, VA

Christmas Lights at Marshall Pond Burke VA

Almost every house in this Burke neighborhood cul-de-sac came together to create a Christmas village. Each house had its own unique decorations, lights, and inflatables. It was so much fun to walk through the neighborhood and check out each home’s display. Park at the top of the cul-de-sac and walk around to see each home’s display.

3. 9615 Ashbourne Drive, Burke, VA

Elf Themed House Burke VA

This Elf the Movie-themed holiday lights home is sooo incredibly creative! This family created a whole setup based on scenes from the movie including Gimbal’s storefront and the North Pole. We really enjoyed the creativity from this home, and who doesn’t love Elf! This little gem I found through Family Trip Guides, which also shares lots of great DMV area events.
