Nursery Favorites including What I Love about the DockATot & More

DockATot, The Ollie Swaddle, Lorena Canals Rug Review

With the birth of our second son, we decided to update the nursery and we also got some new items for the baby to use! I wanted to share what some of our new nursery favorites including the DockATot, The Ollie Swaddle, Lorena Canals Rug, Pottery Barn Crib and more!

All the new mommies I know have been raving about the DockATot! It definitely made me want to see what the fuss is about.

What I Love About the DockATot:

  1. It’s SUPER CUTE! I love how they have so many different designs and covers and its a stylish looking baby item!
  2. It’s multifunctional – the baby can use it for sleeping, playing, lounging, etc. You can get a toy arch with different charms to add on to the DockATot.
  3. It’s made up of high quality, breathable, non-toxic, hygienic materials that do not harbor heat, which are also comfortable for the baby.
  4. The materials are also 100% cotton fabrics that are machine washable (definitely necessary for cleaning up baby spit-ups).
  5. It is portable, you can easily bring it anywhere!

I would recommend starting with the Deluxe model for a younger baby and moving up to the Grand model later on. The DockATot should be snug to help the baby feel cozy so you will want to start with the smaller size.

We’ve been using it for over a month and will have to say its definitely its something that we really like and use every day.

Reminder, the DockATot is NOT to be used in cribs, bassinets or playpens, and no blankets or pillows as well. The Grand model can be used in a toddler or big-sized kid bed once the child is at least 9 months and the child can safely descend from the bed on their own.

Dockatot Lorena Canals Ollie Swaddle Review

What I Love About The Ollie Swaddle

  1. I love how high quality and well-made the swaddle is. The material is so soft! The swaddle is made out of moisture-wicking fabric to reduce the risk of overheating.
  2. It’s simple to use. You just velcro over to secure the baby and you can easily do diaper changes through an opening at the bottom of the swaddle.
  3. I also love the cute name of the swaddle, which perfectly matches my son 😉 plus there is a great story behind how the swaddle came about.

We love having the option of a pre-made swaddle when we don’t want to wrap the baby up. I find if the baby is already sleeping and not yet swaddled, I don’t wake him up as much using The Ollie Swaddle versus swaddling him the traditional way. We do love a traditional swaddle, but this is definitely a nice option to have!

Having the DockATot and The Ollie Swaddle does help keep the baby calm and cozy, but I don’t expect these things to make the baby sleep through the night just yet! He’s only two months and it will take some time for him to learn how to self-soothe and not have to feed every 2-3 hours. I want to be realistic that good sleep habits will take some time, but it is nice to have baby items to help in the process.

What I Love About our Lorena Canals Rug

  1. It’s WASHABLE! Yes, you heard me, you can wash this rug in your washer and dryer! How amazing is that? Especially with kids, you want to be able to throw everything in the washer!
  2. They have SO many cute designs. I especially love the Botanic Plants design that I chose. If you can’t tell, I love green plants!
  3. It’s a soft, high-quality rug with a good thickness to it. I was pleasantly surprised considering the rug is washable and I was going to use it in my child’s nursery at the great quality and softness of the rug.

I’m seriously obsessed with our new Lorena Canals nursery rug. It’s super cute and works perfectly in Cooper and Ollie’s room.

What I Love About out Pottery Barn Kendall Crib

  1. I love that our Pottery Barn Kendall crib has a low profile model. I would definitely recommend the low profile model if you are on the shorter side like myself!
  2. It has the option to convert to a toddler bed. I didn’t think that we would need the conversion kit so quickly, but we ended up using it once our oldest son attempted to climb out of the crib at about a year and a half. It was a great option to have especially since he likes to roll all over the place when sleeping. I love the fact there was a small rail to keep him in when we transitioned from the crib to toddler bed.
  3. It is a well-made, sturdy crib, which is GREENGUARD Gold Certified (meets/exceeds stringent chemical emissions standards) and also Fair Trade certified.

We haven’t had any issues with our Pottery Barn Kendall crib . I find it to be sturdy and safe and I would recommend it as an option along with the conversion kit.

I wish I had known about this product before I had a baby. I would have used it all the time, it probably would have made nap times so much easier!

What a cool post! When I had my girls, there weren’t many nice looking things that weren’t a ton of money. Now there is a really nice variety. I wish you well, thanks for sharing! 🙂

[…] We used the DockATot for the first few months and I would definitely recommend it, especially if you cosleep. This wasn’t popular or existed when I had my first, but by the time I had my second, I feel like every mommy I knew had one and gave me favorable reviews on it. Read more about my REVIEW HERE. […]
