HOTEL FEATURE: The Shoreline Hotel Waikiki

Shoreline Hotel Waikiki

We had such an amazing time exploring Hawaii for the first time. We absolutely loved our stay at the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki in Honolulu. Although, Waikiki is considered the touristy part of town in Oahu, you really can’t visit Honolulu without checking it out!

The Shoreline Hotel Waikiki is such a gem within Waikiki!  This boutique hotel is so adorable with such a chic tropical modern design. Besides the beautiful design of the hotel, the best part is the location!

LOCATION

The hotel is within steps of many restaurants and shopping centers and very close to Waikiki Beach. It is located right next to Waikiki Shopping Plaza, which has a cute Japanese eatery. It is also located right across from the Royal Hawaiian Center, which has lots of different shops and eateries as well. The Shoreline Hotel is in the heart of Waikiki, so its surrounded by pretty much everything you want or need in Waikiki!

Although not a beach front property, the beach is 2 blocks away and easily accessible. We loved the location as it was close to the beach and all the restaurants and shops we wanted to check out!

THE ROOMS

Our room had a partial ocean view, with a balcony outside, where you could see the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in the distance, the rotating restaurant – Top of Waikiki, and to the other side, this lush Hawaii greenery. The hotel isn’t super tall, but I didn’t mind the views!

The room was tastefully decorated — loved the island chic modern design by award-winning designer Anthony Laurino. The room was good sized with a comfortable bed and very clean. Our room had a microwave and small refrigerator, which can be helpful depending on the situation. We love having a little empty refrigerator anytime we stay anywhere with baby Cooper!

AMENTITIES

The hotel has plenty of amenities that we took advantage of while staying there! I really loved the complimentary infused water, coffee and tea, and newspapers. They also give complimentary beach towels, which is nice and helpful since I rarely pack a beach towel. The front desk takes down your hotel room number and when you return it you just let them know. Much better than some resorts I’ve been to before, which make you return a card with your beach towel. The essentials oils bar was a nice addition that I haven’t seen at other hotels.

The Essential Oils Lobby Bar features over 18 essential oil blends in rollers or sprays including Buggy Begone, Energize, Sleepytime, Music Relief, Vog Relief, Namaste, Sunburn Soother, Ditch the Itch & Allergies from Oahu-based Oil Miracles Hawaii. I tried the Sleepytime essential oils roller. I had a great night’s sleep, but that could have been from a full day out and a comfortable bed! You can purchase them from the front desk or their website if you like any of them!

The hotel had a quaint rooftop pool. We went upstairs to check out the view, but honestly, since the hotel is so close to the beach, I would just recommend going to Waikiki beach. The beach entrance is a short walk from the hotel and don’t forget to grab some towels from the front desk staff!

The hotel has free WIFI, which is definitely a MUST, its 100 % Non-smoking, which I definitely appreciate, and there is a local, organic restaurant next door, Heavenly. I wish we had a chance to check it out since it had some amazing reviews on Yelp, but we will have to save it for our next visit!

The Shoreline Hotel Waikiki is an adorable boutique hotel. While it does not have all the amenities of a larger, chain hotel, the minor things it lacks (spa/free fitness center), it makes up in charm. The front staff desk staff were friendly and welcoming. They were also very helpful and gave me recommendations on restaurants to check out close by. The hotel location was excellent, right in the heart of everything. We spent so much time walking everywhere in Waikiki and enjoying the beach.

I absolutely adored this chic, boutique hotel stay. I cannot wait to return to The Shoreline Hotel Waikiki. The service was great and the hotel was very clean and modern. I would highly recommend a visit if you are looking for a comfortable, well-located, reasonably priced stay!

Gorgeous! I love the retro design in this hotel. I also love all the special details in a great boutique hotel like this. The beach towels are a nice touch (I hate when beach hotels tell you not take their towels to the beach!), and the essentials oil bar sound lovely. I will definitely keep this in mind whenever I head to Hawaii!

I miss Oahu so much! Will definitely check out this hotel if we ever return. We’re not big fans of large hotel chains so this boutique hotel sounds like it’d be our thing 🙂

I love how convenient the location is! Your room looks super comfy! And having a microwave is a big plus! Not many hotels have that equipped.

It looks like the Shoreline Hotel has everything you could want and then plus some! I really dig the idea of an essential oil bar, so clever and original. Being a massage therapist I am a big fan of essential oils and Believe in their benefit. I am surprised they didn’t have a sunscreen bar as well, LOL!

I loved Oahu when I visited many years. This boutique hotel certainly looks like great place to stay. I haven’t stayed at a place that had an essential oils bar- what a plus!
